Thursday 13: The Eagle and the Hawk

I think I’ve mentioned before how much I love John Denver and how I wish I’d seen him in concert.  Here’s the lyrics for one of his short songs:

  1. The Eagle and the Hawk
  2. I am the eagle, I live in high country
  3. In rocky cathedrals that reach to the sky
  4. I am the hawk and there’s blood on my feathers
  5. But time is still turning they soon will be dry
  6. And all of those who see me,
  7. all who believe in me
  8. Share in the freedom I feel when I fly
  9. Come dance with the west wind
  10. and touch on the mountain tops
  11. Sail o’er the canyons and up to the stars
  12. And reach for the heavens and hope for the future
  13. And all that we can be and not what we are

Thursday 13

photohunt: Free

So after a few weeks off, here I’m back with Photohunt.

Now that the kids are all buckled up, we are free to go on out ride.  Or, the feet are free to roam when my feet are doing the pedaling!

Thursday Thirteen: Randomness, mostly about running.

Time for more randomness, I seem to be good at these!!

  1. It is the 4th of July weekend!
  2. I’ve signed up for a 5 MILER Sunday morning.
  3. 5 miles, not 5K!
  4. I’m hoping to finish in about an hour.
  5. I just hope the humidity is as low as it’s been all week.
  6. I’m also signing up for a 5K on 7/10!
  7. YIKES!!
  8. That one is in the evening.
  9. It shouldn’t be too bad.
  10. I’ve had some really good runs in the non humid morning…
  11. I’ve had some ok runs in the heat of the afternoon.
  12. Those runs are usually from water fountain to water fountain!
  13. Yay I’m done.
