An open letter to all sports nuts.

Yes, I know your team is the best.  However, when they are doing poorly, yelling at the TV will not fix anything.  It will not get the referees and or umpires to change the call.  You can yell all you like.  It won’t do any good and it only scares the kids and/or pets.

Whether or not your team wins or loses, it’s not important in the grand scheme of things.  The world is not going to end, but all hell just might break loose.  No one will remember it next season.  No one will remember it next month.  Heck, it’s probably forgotten after a week.

  1. Haha, Accountable, you seem to be dismissing the point that God is on my team’s side.

Although you do mention “the grand scheme,” “hell,” and “heck,” you don’t actually address whether or not God is a sports fan and answers sports-related prayers, which may be the reasoning some people have for yelling at the TV.

I think that God does not have a favorite team. Otherwise, they’d all have winning seasons an no one would lose. Ever. 🙂

For a challenge: (Without looking it up) Can anyone name the QB who was on the 7th most completed passes list in the year of 1975? 😉 ~Accountable

  2. Unless you live in the state I do…not only does everyone “remember”, they feel it is their duty to “remind” everyone else for years and years.

To that I say one thing:

    Get. A. Life.

Love the design changes on your blog! 🙂

It’s true!! They will remind you years to come.

I was wanting a Christmas change. I do like the look of this layout. Who knows how long it’ll stay. ~Accountable

  3. *** guilty *** I scream more at the ether around me than the TV. Sigh.

  4. My dad is a TV screamer. Especially for the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cincinnati Bearcats!

  5. I don’t get it! Football doesn’t rasie your taxes, or make global decisions. Is it an escape thing?

It must be, PPPJ. It must be. Some people take it WAAAY yo seriously. ~Accountable
