Naps

Naps seem to be double edge sword with Little Man (4 years old).  If he doesn’t take them, he’s a crab apple in the evenings, but he falls asleep quickly at bed time.  If he does take them, he’s pleasant, but he falls asleep well after 9:00, sometimes after 10:00.

Soon, we’ll be on the road again and home.  It was a good visit.  Bed times were interesting.  That’ll be another post for a later day.

  1. My grandson is 4 years old, he is the same way, It’s a catch 22 as they say. lol!
Glad you had a good visit.

  2. My 4 year old is exactly like that. She wants to “nap” at 5:30 in the afternoon. Um, no, that’s not a good idea. But I don’t know what to do about it.

  3. We had that same problem with naps! We just ended nap time and started calling it ‘rest time’ and openly telling them they don’t have to sleep or even be in bed, just behind the closed door until the clock says XX.

We’ve tried implementing “rest time” or “quiet time”, but he wasn’t buying it. We do try to have quiet play time or book reading time and he seems okay with that. ~Accountable
